Warehouse security cameras: meet Sightproof, one engine

Physical Security is now Sightproof: one engine with a Security pack available today and a Workplace Safety pack in early access. Here is what that means if you run warehouses.

A wide warehouse interior with loading docks and aisles, with subtle camera-view frames overlaid on different zones of the building

If you run warehouses, you probably have a lot of warehouse security cameras and not enough people to watch them. Docks, aisles, yards, fences, back doors. Every one of them is a feed that somebody is supposed to notice something on.

In October 2026 we made a change that touches how we think about that problem. The product we used to call Physical Security is now called Sightproof. This post explains what changed, what stayed the same, and why it matters for a site like yours.

What changed with the name

The short version: Physical Security is now Sightproof.

It is also set up differently. Sightproof is presented as a single engine with packs on top of it. Two packs exist today:

  • Security pack: available now.
  • Workplace Safety pack: in early access.

If you already use the product, nothing breaks. Existing links keep working. You do not need to update bookmarks or rebuild anything because of the rename.

That is the whole announcement. The rest of this post is about why the shape matters.

Why one engine, not two tools

A warehouse has two kinds of camera worries. One is security: who is where they should not be, and what happened overnight. The other is safety: how people and equipment share the floor.

In many companies those two worries end up in two separate systems. Different cameras get connected twice. Different teams learn different screens. Nobody can see the whole picture.

Sightproof takes a different path. It is one engine, and the Security and Workplace Safety packs sit on top of it. For a buyer, that means you are not signing up for a second product when your needs grow. You are adding a pack to the engine you already know.

We want to be careful here. The Security pack is available today, and the Workplace Safety pack is in early access. We are not going to describe features for the early-access pack that we have not announced. What we can say is that the structure is in place.

What the Security pack gives a warehouse today

The Security pack is the part you can use now. Here is how its pieces line up with a typical warehouse day.

Connecting the cameras you already have. Sightproof registers RTSP and HTTP cameras and tests the connection. It organizes them by location and zone. For a warehouse, that lets you group feeds the way your building works, such as a loading dock, an inside aisle area, or a yard.

Spotting what matters. Sightproof detects objects zero-shot with OWL-ViT, or with your own fine-tuned model. It can also fine-tune object detection models on your own camera feeds using LoRA. Your warehouse does not look like anyone else's, so training on your own footage is a real advantage.

Alerts that get answered. Sightproof raises severity-based alerts with an acknowledgement and escalation workflow. A minor alert and a serious one should not look the same at 2 a.m. The escalation path means an alert nobody picks up does not just sit there.

Incidents with an owner. Sightproof groups alerts into incidents, assigns responders and tracks resolution status. Each incident goes to a responder, keeps an activity log with notes, and requires a resolution note to close. Later, you can see who handled something and what they decided.

What this means for warehouse security cameras across many sites

Most companies with warehouses have more than one building. That adds its own headaches: who can see what, and where does the video go?

On access, Sightproof lets a security team share cameras, alerts and incidents by site. It uses owners, site admins, operators and viewers. So the person running one warehouse can see that warehouse, and a regional lead can see more. Sightproof also keeps role-based access control for the security team and audit logs for all security events.

On where the data lives, you have choices. Sightproof deploys detection models on AWS, Azure or GCP. It can also run inference on-premise so data stays on your network. Some warehouse operators have strict rules about video leaving the building. That option exists for them.

Fewer false alarms, measured honestly

Anyone who has run cameras knows the real enemy is noise. Too many false alerts and the team stops trusting the system.

Sightproof addresses this carefully. Every alert can get an optional second look by a vision model, which says whether the box really shows what the detector reported, with its reason. It runs in shadow mode, and it is measured against your team's own verdicts before it can mute anything.

In practice, the AI's calls are marked confirmed, rejected or uncertain, and it never changes alert status or mutes anything while in shadow mode. An agreement card compares those calls with your team's confirm and false-positive verdicts. Muting stays locked until enough alerts have been reviewed and rejection precision is high enough.

That is the right order of operations. Your team stays in charge, and the system has to earn trust with numbers from your own cameras.

Sightproof can also fine-tune detection models on alerts your team has verified from its own cameras. Your verdicts do double duty. They guide the review, and they can help improve the detector.

And what about the ROI question?

Buyers always ask whether this pays off. Sightproof reports measured ROI from real alert volumes. Any savings estimate is built only from your own inputs. We would rather show you what your cameras actually produced than hand you a generic number.

What to do next

If you use Physical Security today, you do not have to do anything. It is Sightproof now, and your links keep working.

If you are evaluating camera software for your warehouses, start with a simple question: what do you need to catch, and who needs to respond? Then look at how the Security pack fits. If workplace safety is on your list too, ask us where the Workplace Safety pack stands in early access.

You can read more about the product on the Sightproof page. Tell us what your sites look like, and we will tell you plainly what fits today and what does not.
